1) Klopp has added more directness to Liverpool

Rodgers’ best days at Liverpool came when he coached a system which was spearheaded by verve in the final third through Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge in 2013/14.

However the Merseysiders never managed to maintain such sharp directness all over the pitch in the latter stages of Rodgers’ reign, becoming too stagnant and dramatically pace-less.

Rodgers puts huge emphasis on ball retention in his approach but while that is fine, his Liverpool side was too slow with possession this season and they were also lopsided with not much natural width.

But Klopp has since managed to morph Liverpool back into their fast-paced, electric ways of the past, flying through teams with speed, craft and imagination in the attacking third.
